About us.......
Collecting farm toys began at an early age for Adam. Farm toys were always a common gift at Christmas and birthdays growing up. In high school Adam attended the National Farm Toy Show in Dyersville and he was hooked on collecting.
Adam met Jon Sampson at a toy show in the summer of 1998. Adam was visiting with Jon about his farm display and from that moment forward, the two of them began putting their heads together building toy displays. Jon and Adam were known to be seen with a 1/64 farm display at toy shows in Dyersville, IA, Mankato, MN, Mason City, IA, Saint Louis, MO, Litchfield, MN and several other small shows for many years. Their success earned them many Best of Show awards, including the National Toy Show in Dyersville, and several times at the Gateway Show in St Louis.
Along the way, the two met Otto Tegtmeyer while traveling to those shows. Building a new display every year opened doors for demand of custom built farm toys that Otto, Jon and Adam built. The demand for higher detailed pieces led them to search for ways to manufacture toys faster and in larger quantities. The trio started by selling custom toys at shows along with new in the package farm toys and trucks. In 2011 Adam began being a distributor for Standi Toys in Somerset, Wisconsin. Standi is known for their 1/64th scale grain bins, augers, silos, grain dryers, hay and forage equipment, livestock equipment and rubber tires for 1/64 scale tractors and implements. Adam built the pattern for what's known as the stack-able grain dryer that Standi sells today.
In early 2014, we began the process of ordering our first run of trucks from Die Cast Promotions. After months of planning and discussion an order was placed for 1250 Peterbilt trucks in May of 2014. These were the first Peterbilt 379’s DCP produced as a sleeper cab with a full day cab in front of it. The sleeper could be removed and the truck could be customized as a straight truck. This led to the formation of Mini Truck & Tractor, LLC on July 1, 2014. Today we are focusing on owner-operator truck lines who want a replica of their own trucks produced for themselves or for customer appreciation.
The Mini Truck & Tractor, LLC family grew when Adam and Aundrea were married in June of 2014. Together they have 5 children and reside in Windsor Heights, Iowa. Adam has two step-sons, David and Nick and Aundrea has three children, Connor, Katelyn and Haley.
In September of 2014 we launched www.minitrucktractorllc.com to promote and sell our merchandise. It’s a work in progress but plan to grow it into a premier online store to sell farm toys and toy trucks.
In October of 2014, Mini Truck & Tractor, LLC became the exclusive wholesale distributor for Standi Toys, Inc., carrying their full line of products.
In 2015, we took over the farming operation from Adam’s parents who retired. We raise approximately 750 acres of corn and soybeans in north central Iowa on and around the farm Adam grew up on. Adam’s parents still help with field work and other duties around the farm from time to time.
On August 1, 2016, Mini Truck & Tractor. LLC became the owners of Standi Toys, Inc. We are honored to carry on the business that the late Stan and Sandi Krueger began in the early 1980's. Standi Toys will continue to be produced and assembled in the U.S.A.
Today Adam & Aundrea Suntken operate Mini Truck & Tractor, LLC out of their home in Windsor Heights, IA. Adam's part-time employment in the grain business ended in August of 2021, he is now fully self-employed with farming and with Mini Truck & Tractor, LLC.
Standi Toy History
Stan Krueger started Standi Toys in 1981 by making replacement fenders for 1/16th scale toy tractors. The parts were a hit and the company was born. "Standi" originates from "Stan" and "di" from his wife Sandi. There first shop was in Ham Lake, MN, then moved to Hugo, MN and in 1993 made the final move to a location in Somerset, WI.
Over the years Standi continued to make 1/16 scale replacement parts and realistic rubber tires. They are also known for many 1/64 scale toys, including grain bins, augers, dryers, grain drills, feeder wagons and hay and forage implements. Standi also made aluminum cattle pots, semi trailers and metal farm buildings.
In 1987, Stan decided it was time to transition from working as an accountant to running Standi Toys full-time.
Standi attended many of the farm toy shows across the country including the National Farm Toy Show in Dyersville, IA, Lafayette Farm Toy Show, Gateway Toy Show in St Louis as well as many of the large national farm shows such as Louisville, KY, Fort Wayne, IN and World Dairy Expo.
In 2014, Standi sold their building in Somerset and Mini Truck & Tractor, LLC took over operations of the business.
On November 15, 2015, Sandi passed away unexpectedly. In August of 2016 Standi Toys was sold to Mini Truck & Tractor, LLC.
Since taking over Standi Toys, Mini Truck and Tractor has added more items to the product line. Such as hay heads for the JD 8600 forage harvester, reintroduced the Quonset shed from an original Standi pattern, monoslope cattle barn, hoop shed, 20.8-38 double cut pulling tires, retooled the 11L-16 and 12.5L-16 tractor fronts, 14.9-16 and 19.5-16 implement tires and many 3D printed and laser cut grain handling accessories.
Stan Kruger passed away on March 22, 2021.
